McAdams, Mississippi

McAdams is an unincorporated community in Attala County, Mississippi. It is located southwest of Kosciusko along Mississippi Highway 12.

The community was settled by the McAdams family in 1845, and grew to over 200 of the family by 1887. Many moved on to Louisiana and Texas by 1898. Joshua Teague McAdams settled in the community with eight of his children, building churches and the McAdams school which has become the McAdams attendance canter and part of Attala County School District and serves students in grades seven through twelve. They built and operated a cotton gin, and saw mill.
